Bangla subtitles on any video

Updated 5 November 2026

There are three ways to get Bangla subtitles on a video in VM Player: load a subtitle file you already have, search for one online, or translate the English subtitles into Bangla on your phone. The same steps work for any of the languages VM Player can translate into.

Way 1: load a subtitle file you have

  1. Save the subtitle file on your phone. SRT, VTT and ASS files work. Keeping it next to the video with the same name (film.mkv and film.srt) makes it easy to find.
  2. Open the video in VM Player and tap the screen to show the controls.
  3. Tap CC at the top of the player, then Add subtitle › From this device.
  4. Pick the file. VM Player shows “Subtitle added” and the subtitles appear.

Way 2: search for subtitles online

  1. In the player, tap CC › Add subtitle › Search online.
  2. VM Player fills in the film’s name. Check it, choose বাংলা under Subtitle languages, and tap Search.
  3. Results marked Matches this file were made for your exact copy of the video, so they are most likely to be in sync. Tap one to download it.

Subtitles come from OpenSubtitles.com. The first time, VM Player may ask for a free API key: sign in at opensubtitles.com, open Profile › API consumers, create a key and paste it in. OpenSubtitles sets a daily limit on free downloads.

Way 3: translate English subtitles into Bangla

  1. Turn on the English subtitles the video already has (or load them with Way 1 or 2).
  2. Tap CC › Translate subtitles and choose বাংলা.
  3. The first time, VM Player downloads the subtitle translator (about 8 MB) and the Bangla language pack. This happens once. After that, translation works offline and nothing leaves your phone.
  4. The subtitles now appear in Bangla, labelled (translated). To go back, choose Off in the same menu.

Machine translation is good for following a film, not perfect. Names and jokes sometimes come out oddly. Subtitles that are pictures (common on Blu-ray copies) cannot be translated.

Subtitles too early or too late?

Open the subtitle settings in the player and use Subtitle sync. Too early? Tap +. Too late? Tap −. Tap the time to reset it. Sync works for subtitle files you load (SRT, VTT, ASS).

Bigger, bolder or styled subtitles

In Subtitle preferences you can make every subtitle bold, and choose whether to use the styles stored inside ASS files.
